After the controversial denouncement of servers using mods to change player skins, Valve will now revoke server rights for using them.
Mid-summer of last year, Valve asked server owners to avoid using plugins that changed weapon or knife skins to ones that players did not own or didn't have equipped, a move that at the time that was questioned by many in the community.
The company appears to have doubled down on that stance now, revealing that they now revoke server license tokens from operators who choose to use any type of inventory modification plug-in, effectively meaning players will no longer be able to join that server. This also includes any mods that change player models, most notably zombie servers.
