The opening match of group B saw Ninjas in Pyjamas taking on Team EnVyUs. The Ninjas have recently experienced a result slump, while EnVyUs has just walked out of a major with the Champions title. However, when these two teams meet, there is always a nail biting battle to witness.
After the map veto process, the final choice came down to de_mirage. EnVyUs opened with a very good pistol round, but NiP hit back with a force buy and brought it back to 1-1. EnVyUs wouldn't be known as one of the best teams with pistols if they didn't force in the next round. It paid off and EnVyUs regained a 2-1 lead. The next round saw NiP forcing once again, which this time paid off for the Swedes. And it was insturmental in starting the machine, as NiP managed to win eight consecutive rounds for 9-2. In the end, EnVyUs reduced this deficit to 9-6.
The second half saw an even more entertaining pistol round, where the French team was the one in lead, with a man advantage, but NiP still managed to pull it off. The Swedish team 'survived' the round, which was followed by a force buy from EnVyUs' and from this moment on they had a full control of it. When the first full buy came into play for EnVyUs, they just couldn't achieve much with it, as NiP was already on point and on fire. The best the French players could do is score two more rounds before dropping the map to NiP with 8-16.
