Cloud9 has managed to take down Team Liquid 2-1 in a very close final for the iBP Invitational title and spot at IEM San Jose.

iBUYPOWER Invitational Fall had been played over the course of the last two days. We were able to see some of the North American finest teams being gathered in Santa Ana to battle it out for the lion's share of $100,000.

After a very intensive group stage, the top two teams of each group moved on to the playoffs. The playoffs used a very common single elimination format where Team Liquid and Counter Logic Gaming were the first to cross their spears. Liquid has easily come out on the top, beating CLG 2-0 and qualifying for the finals. The other semi final match brought us a very quick 2-0 victory by Cloud9 against Luminosity Gaming.

Carried on the wings of their great victory over Luminosity Gaming, Cloud9 just stomped Team Liquid on the first map of the grand final. Liquid was left down on de_cache with only five rounds and it was just looking like another express victory by Sean Gares and his guys, but Adren and his boys had something else to say. On the second map which was de_inferno, one witnessed a completely different picture as Liquid was the main role now, breaking Cloud9 apart and knocking them down 16-4. And finally, the third map de_cobblestone brought us a heart-breaking finisher and an overtime where Cloud9 was the one with better concetration.

Prize distribution:
1. United States Cloud9 - $65,000
2. United States Team Liquid - $25,000
3-4. Brazil Luminosity Gaming - $5,000
3-4. United States Counter Logic Gaming - $5,000
