France wins World Championships
Team France took home first place this weekend at the CS:GO World Championships after defeating Poland in the grandfinals match 3-1. The French national team featured a mashup of the two top teams from the country, EnVyUs and Titan, constisting of shox, apEX, Happy, SmithZz and NBK. They will take home $50,000 for their first place finish at the event; check out the main article for more details on prize distribution and the rest of the event.
Hellraisers sign styko and oskar
Hellraisers made an important acquistion this week with the signing of Tomáš "oskar" Š?astný and Martin "STYKO" Styk, who had been trying out for the team for just a day. Maksym Bednarsky, the general manager of HellRaisers, said the following about the move:
Denial picks up Trifecta
Denial have decided to return to the professional CS:GO scene this week by signing Trifecta, a relatively unknown North American team. The roster is currently competing in CEVO-P Season 8 and ESEA Premier, where they are showing decent results with 1-5-3 and 5-2 scores for each respective tournament.
Organizations form team unions
The long-rumored team union has come to fruition: organizations have finally banded together to bring demands to the tournament organizaers who the teams feel aren't providing enough in prize money and travel support. For more details on this landmark movement, head to our full recap.
RGN releases Pro Series LAN finals details
Details of the $30,000 RGN Pro Series LAN finals have been released with week; sixteen teams will be featured battling it out inside the eSports Arena, with the majority of them coming from the North American side of the league. The format includes a group stage, where the top teams from each of the four groups will advance to a BO1 round-robin. Teams that survive both will enter into the playoffs, where every game will be decided through a best-of-three series in a double-elimination bracket. Check out the full list of teams here.
