The map veto process was a bit unexpected as we saw de_overpass being left as the last map after all the bans were applied. Virtus.pro removed de_train, de_cache and de_dust2, while Cloud9 banned de_mirage, de_cobblestone and de_inferno.

Cloud9 opened this match in the best possible way. They rushed into the B bomb site, got an early bomb plant and held back playing time which allowed them to come out on top of this one. Quickly after we saw 3-0 for Cloud9 and in the fourth round it was the turn around moment for Virtus.pro if they wanted to keep themselves in this half. The first buy round and the Poles managed to win that one and to bring back this match to 3-3. However, VP didn't stop there as they oiled up their machines and just stomped their way through this half for 10-5. The second pistol round was won by the Polish team and it was pretty clear from that moment on that it would be difficult for Cloud9 to come out as the winners of this match. VP kept the CT's economy low and with the perfect execution on the B bomb site they gathered enough rounds for 16-10 finish and a spot in the semi finals.

Virtus.pro will be now moving to the semi finals of the playoffs as the first placed team of the group A. On the other hand, Cloud9 will wait for the winner of the match between Luminosity Gaming and Team EnVyUs to play for the better seed in the quarter finals.
