The top eight teams of the online phase gathered in Cologne, Germany to fight for the grand prize of $100,000. The first to come out on the stage were Virtus.pro and Luminosity Gaming, who played the opening match of the group A.

The map veto was really interesting. We saw some unorthodox moves by both of the teams. Luminosity Gaming removed de_cache, de_mirage and de_train, while Virtus.pro went for removal of de_inferno, de_dust2 and de_overpass. This left de_cobblestone as the last map in the pool.

Luminosity Gaming started off on the CT side, where PTR was left alone on the A bomb site, while the other four players were stacked at the B bomb site. Virtus.pro went for a quick push of the A site and PTR managed to land a very good shot for an entry kill. The North American player managed to leave long enough to distract Virtus.pro until his team mates rotated over, which pretty much sealed the deal for the American team in the pistol round. However, VP quickly returned in the next round evening it to 1-1, and, from this moment on, LG lost the full control of the match. Virtus.pro plowed on, and finished the first half 11-4, where the five quick rounds followed on the CT side for 16-4 and an easy win.

The next on stage will be Team EnVyUs and Cloud9 who will be playing in the other semi finals match of the group A. Virtus.pro will meet the winner of this match, while Luminosity Gaming will play against the loser.
