NA tournaments review: Cloud 9 rising

We are back with the weekly ongoing tournaments review and we will take a closer look at the events featuring the North American teams.

ESL ESEA Pro League - $500,000

Cloud9 have finally pulled themselves to the top of the ladder this week, managing to rack up an impressive nine wins out of their total ten matches, only losing to eLevate (currently number three with 21 points) on de_mirage. Keyd Stars, who were number one last week, have managed to still maintain a strong win-loss ratio with a total of eight wins out of ten.

Near the bottom of the bracket, things are looking grim for mouseSpaz and Method, both only managing to win a single match a piece and no draws. Although mouseSpaz have a had a few close matches against some of the NA heavyweights such as Liquid and C9, Method (fomerly known as Paradox) have been struggling to pull rounds, losing maps with disappointing scorelines in the single digits regularly against such teams.

CEVO Season 7 - $135,000

Counter Logic Gaming have retained their first place spot in the ladder, even without playing additional matches since last week in the CEVO league. However, Luminosity is hot on their heels however, with three wins and five draws for a total of fourteen points, only two behind CLG's sixteen.

The rest of the ladder is relatively neck-in-neck with the majority of teams only having two or three wins and healthy number of draws, with the exception of Ace Gaming and eLevate, who still haven't managed to get a win as of yet. Cloud9 are steadily moving up, currently sitting at fourth place with a 3-2-0 record.
