Vega Squadron managed to defeat Piter 2-0 in the grand finals of Uprise Champions Cup Season 2 to win the grand prize of $1,000.
The second edition of Uprise Champions Cup has come to a close. The LAN finals were played yesterday in Moscow, Russia. The four best teams from the group stage gathered in The Moscow Cyber Stadium to fight for the lion's share of $2,000.
Coming to this tournament as a favourites, PiTER started off with an easy 2-0 win against USSR. This secured them a place in the grand finals, while USSR were knocked down to the third place match decider. In the other semi finals we saw Vega Squadron taking the win over ACES, in the same fashion, 2-0.
The grand finals featured the first placed teams of each group which in the end was the most fair conclusion of this tournament. USSR won a consolation prize by defeating ACES 1-0 in the third place match decider, while Vega Squadron was too strong for Piter in the grand finals. Vega didn't drop a single map in this playoffs which secured them a well deserved first place and a cheque on $1,000.
