Gfinity Masters groups revealed

Groups for the second edition of Gfinity Masters have been drawn and a total of ten teams have been split between two groups.

Some of the best teams across the globe will gather once again in Gfinity's eSports arena in London, to battle it out in the $50,000 tournament. This will be the second of four Gfinity Masters  planned for this year and the organizers have already decided to undergo some format changes.

The first edition of Gfinity Masters featured a total of eight teams which were distributed into the two groups which were later on played in GSL format. However, this time the number of participants was increased and therefore the format was adjusted accordingly to it. Instead of GSL, double-elimination format, Gfinity Masters will now use a classic best-of-two round robin system. The playoffs part will remain the same, as the top two teams of each group will move on to next stage.

The group A will feature two Swedish giants, Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Fnatic just won a LAN title only a week ago, and they will be looking now to extend their streek. On the other hand, Ninjas in Pyjamas are still struggling to get back on track and get their first LAN trophy of the year after their win at ASUS ROG Winter. These two teams will be joint by a CIS represent, Natus Vincere. Na'Vi probably has one of the best forms at this very moment. They have really stepped up following their win at ESL Pro League, and they are now looking to contest tier 1 teams in London during this weekend. The last two teams of this group are North American Liquid and Australian VOX EMINOR. The both teams are coming to this tournament as underdogs and will try to grab their chance from the shadow.

Winner of the first edition of Gfinity Masters, Team EnVyUs, will be placed into the group B together with their fellow countrymen, Titan. EnVyUs has just lost to Fnatic in the finals of DH Tours and they will be looking for a revenge in London, where on the other side Titan is stepping up recently and building up their form so we could possibly see an upset during this weekend. Another team of this group is Virtus.pro. The Polish squad is just demolishing everyone recently, and is probably considered, alongside Na'Vi, as the team who is in the best form at this very moment. In the end, we will also see a freshened Cloud9 roster as well as Team Immunity who is still at their European tour, where they have already took part at FACE IT LAN finals and DH Tours qualifiers.

Gfinity Masters II will commence on May 16-17 so stay tuned to GosuGamers for the full coverage of this and many other events.
