The first day of CCS LAN finals brought us two upsets which caused the main favourites of the tournament to go down to the lowers bracket. A long expected clash between Fnatic and EnVyUs didn't happen in the grand finals, but instead in the lowers bracket round 1. Both teams had to fight for their survival in this tournament, but at the same time for the pride as well.

Driven by their experience of the yesterday's match, Fnatic decided to remove de_dust2 from the pool, while EnVyUs banned de_nuke. As expected, Fnatic went straight for de_mirage as it was still free for the pick-up, where EnVyUs' choice was de_inferno. The second banning phase brought the removal of de_cache by Fnatic and de_cobblestone by EnVyUs which left de_overpass as the last map in the pool. And we all remember what de_overpass brought us the last time these two teams played it in their match at DreamHack Winter.

Winning the knife round Fnatic went for a more favored CT side of de_mirage where they started off by taking a clean pistol round. The Swedes didn't really have too many problems maintaining this lead as they built up a bank with the SMG kills, while EnVyUs were doing a totally opposite thing. The French team was pushing unorthodox buys where we could see pistols, AKs and SMGs all mixed up in the same round. This didn't really work out for them and Fnatic was already up to 10 rounds where nV had only 3. However, Happy and co. managed to win a clean eco round by taking the B site which pushed back Fnatic, who had to play only with the pistols in the last round of the first half. The half time score was 10-5 and nV was the one to open the next half by winning the pistol round. However, Fnatic is known for their well executed pushes on both bombsites of de_mirage. We could see smokes everywhere and a bomb plant which allowed Fnatic to get enough money to work with in the next round. The Swedes started rolling their machines and the French team was already far behind. The final score of this map was 16-9.

On de_inferno we saw nV taking the knife round and starting on CT side by taking the four rounds in a row. Once the 5th round started, olofmeister found an early entry frag on SmithZz at the long A but only 1 second later the map was changed and the game log was lost. After a very long break the match was resumed at the exactly same moment and it looks like Fnatic enjoyed the break more. The Swedes quickly climbed themselves up to 4 rounds to make it draw. However, nV showed why they are considered as one of the best teams on de_inferno as they quickly responded for 8-4. Unfortunately for them, Fnatic woke up once again to make it 8-7. Fnatic went to the second half full of confidence, but nV didn't let the not so great performance on CT side to shake them and they took the second pistol round. From this moment on the match was no one's as both team were going back and forth. In the end, Fnatic was the one to get the first match point on the 15-13 score. The French team had to work only with the pistols and armors which in this case was enough to bring it back to 15-14. This time Fnatic was the one forcing the buy and it did work out for them as they took the map 16-14 and sent EnVyUs packing home. Fnatic will now wait for the loser of the TSM vs NiP match in the lowers bracket finals.

Day 2 schedule:
14.00 CET - Team Solomid vs Ninjas in Pyjamas - Winners bracket finals
18.00 CET - Fnatic vs Loser of TSM vs NiP - Lowers bracket finals
