Team Liquid managed to win the grand finals of the RGN Intercontinental II: North American tournament.
The format of the RGN tournament involved an upper and lower bracket with each match being played in a best-of-three format, with the first round of the lower bracket being exclusively played in a best-of-one format. The Reliable Gaming Network's second North American tournament saw four teams reach the finals:
Team Liquid
SYNRGY GAMING
Mostly Harmless
Fenix Fire
It was Team Liquid who managed to achieve a spot at the grand finals by overcoming Synrgy 2:0, first 16:3 on Mirage then 16:7 on Dust2 in the semi-finals. Fenix Fire also beat Mostly Harmless 16:7 on Nuke, achieving their own spot at the grand finals.
Fenix Fire were the underdogs confronting Team Liquid in the grand final game in a best-of-three, but they would be disappointed; losing the first two games and thus the tournament with Liquid winning 16:7 on Mirage and 16:9 on Cache.
In the loser game it was Fenix Fire against Synrgy Gaming, with the foremost winning on maps Cache, 16:11 and in a dominating fashion with a 16:4 score on Overpass.
