For the last sixteen years, the Counter-Strike community has attended the Gamers Assembly. This year, GA has decided to have an Open, and a Pro tournament, with the help of their sponsor, SteelSeries.
Gamers Assembly is a convention of sorts that runs from 4th of April, to the 6th; and will also be hosting other tournaments alongside CS:GO. The event will be held at the Parc des Expositions de Poiters, in France.
This year, the top eight teams from the Open will go head to head against four invited teams in the Pro. In the Open, a $2,500 prize pool has been announced. For the Pro, a $20,000 prize pool has been announced. 48 teams will be competing one another for the top 8 positions, who will move on to the Pro, leaving the last 40 to compete for the smaller prize pool.
The prize for first and second place will be $10,000, and $5,000, splitting the remaining $5,000 with the rest of the teams. For the open, 1st place will receive €1,500, 2nd place will get €750, leaving €250 for third place. Every participating team in the Pro tournament will receive a winning.
