eLevate to claim Alienware Area 51 CS:GO Cup title

eLevate are the crowned champions of Alienware Area 51 CS:GO Cup after managing to defeat Team Liquid 2-1 in the grand finals.

The two day event featured a total of eight teams competing for the lion's share of $10,000. We could see the best North American teams participating in this tournament, with the exception of Cloud9 who didn't take a part in it.

Team Liquid defeated Denial eSports and Luminosity Gaming on their road to the finals. The first match went 2-0 into their favor, while the second one was 2-1. On the other hand eLevate didn't had an easy run to the finals, as they first had to fight Counter Logic Gaming and then Area 51. The both matches were won by eLevate with the same result of 2-1.

The grand finals featured all three maps where Liquid kicked off with the 16-8 win on de_overpass. However, eLevate managed to make a comeback and to claim the next map, which was de_cache, with 16-12. It looked like an easy cleanup for TL on de_dust2 where Liquid had a good first half on T side, 9-6, but eLevate made it hard for TL to get any space to work with in the second half as they moved on to CT side. Led by the newly acquired player, desi, eLevate stomped Liquid in the second half for the final 16-13 and 2-1 in this series.
