Team EnVyUs are your Gfinity Spring Masters I champions!

Team EnVyUs have won Gfinity Spring Masters I following a 3-1 victory over NiP.

Day 3 of the Gfinity Spring Masters I saw four teams in the playoffs battling it out for their piece of the $50,000 total prize pool. The first match of the day was between Swedish legends NiP and Polish underdogs Virtus.pro. Map 1 was the endangered de_nuke, where Virtus.pro started on the much more favoured CT sided. There, they were able to pick up a respectable 9 rounds compared to NiP's 6. However, when it came to their T sided, VP completely choked and failed to get anything going their way, as NiP closed out this map by winning 10 rounds over VPs 1 in the second half, winning 16-10.

Map 2 was de_mirage, and being VPs map pick, they were able to crush NiP here, despite some amazing clutch rounds by allu on the pistol rounds. VP took this map 16-7.

The final map came down to de_inferno, where VP started off very strong by winning 10 rounds on the less favoured T side of the map. However, as eSports historian Duncan "Thorin" Shields has always said, the Swedish side cameback with their NiP magic, securing a spot in the grand finals by winning 16-12.

The second quarter final match was between North American giants Cloud9 and EnVyUs, where it was clear that EnVyUs were favoured to win. de_cobblestone went to EnVyUs quite convincingly, after they completely crushed their opponents 16-8, and while de_cache was a little closer, the French side still won 16-10. EnVyUs will now face NiP in the grand finals.

NiP will face EnVyUs in the Grand Finals of Gfinity Spring Masters I

The BO5  Grand Finals of the event were especially close, where the first map (de_inferno) came right down to the wire. EnVyUs started off strong by winning a respectable 9 rounds on the more favoured CT side of the map, but rounds only went back and forth from then on. In the end, NiP cameback and were able to just barely win at 16-14. Next up was de_cache.

After their devastating loss on de_inferno, EnVyUs looked to comeback from their one round deficit. This was easily accomplished as they completely de_stroyed NiP on de_cache, crushing any sort of retaliation and winning 16-5.

The third map was de_dust2, which was another relatively close map. The first half saw a tight scoreline at 8-7 in favour of the Ninjas, but it wasn't until the second half that NiP completely choked and lost 9 rounds as EnVyUs closed the map 16-11. The score was now 2-1, and EnVyUs only needed one more map to win the series. Up next was de_cobblestone.

NiP started de_cobblestone extremely well, winning 8 rounds on the less favoured T side of the map. However, they failed to turn this into a victory after EnVyUs took the crown by winning the second pistol round as well as 9 rounds compared to just one single round on the Swedish side.

EnVyUs have now won Gfinity Spring Masters I, while NiP have come in 2nd place. The prize pool distribution for the event will be as follows:

1st. Team EnVyUs - $25,000
2nd. NiP - $15,000
3rd. Virtus.pro - $7,000
4th. Cloud9 - $3,000
