ESEC World Championships to feature over $100,000

ESEC have announced that their upcoming 2015 World Championships will feature $100,000.

The tournament, which will feature 16 country teams from around the world battling it out for a piece of the total prize pool, will be held between October 8th and 11th at the Sava Centar in Belgrade, Serbia. There will be six different regions where teams will be coming from - Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Oceania. In order to qualify for the main $100,000 LAN event, teams will have to go through their regional online qualifiers.

In addition to the $100,000 that has already been set by ESEC, additional money will also be added to the prize pool through a crowdfunding initiative. Every contribution to the crowdfunding will be awarded with official merchandise. Also, ESEC have stated that all travel/accomodation fees will be covered through their fund.

As part of their partnership with the Twitch streaming competitor Hitbox, all matches in the tournament will be streamed on the Hitbox.tv platform.

Daniel Leberl, CCO of Hitbox, had the following to say about the situation:

Last year's ESEC and the upcoming World Championships bring something unique to the CS:GO scene. A true nations based tournament, uniting some of the best players from around the globe. Extraordinary matchups will be a regular occurrence, with lineups you previously only were able to see in fantasy drafts. It goes without saying that we are enormously excited to see all this action live and exclusive on hitbox.

More information regarding the event is said to be revealed soon, so stay tuned to GosuGamers for more updates.
