ESL has announced the second edition of ESL One Cologne which will feature a $250,000 prize pool funded directly by ESL.
ESL has announced the fourth big event which is being held under their banner. The first three were funded by Valve, however the fourth one will be directly funded by ESL. In cooperation with LANXESS, ESL is bringing the CS:GO elite once again to Cologne, Germany, where they will be fighting in one of the biggest eSports arenas in the world on August 22nd-23rd.
The sixteen teams will fulfill this spectacle where it's yet to be announced how the teams will be chosen for this event. The only certain thing is that we will enjoy, once more in a great event, the best world-wide teams battling out for the $250,000 prize. The venue will be Europe’s second largest multifunctional arena, usually home to ice hockey giants, “Kölner Haie”, which has a 15,000-seats.
The information on the tournament format and qualification process will be announced in the following days. Ticket sales for ESL One Cologne in the LANXESS arena (August 22nd and 23rd) begin on February 23rd. Tickets will be available on Eventim and all associated ticketing agencies in Germany.
