Markeloff has come out with an official statement regarding the forfeit issue which occured yesterday.
Yegor "markeloff" Markelov from dAT Team has posted an official statement on his facebook channel regarding the issue which they had with the scheduling conflicts of ESL One Katowice CIS Qualifier and StarLadder:
[redquote1]Unfortunately we must announce that we have no choice but to forfeit the ESL One CIS Qualifier.
Due to tournament date changes and a misunderstanding created by ESL administrators, our SLTV match was granted an exception and was moved back. We are now in a situation where we have a scheduling conflict between our SLTV and ESL CIS Qualifier matches. Despite several potential suggested solutions on our part, neither tournament has been willing to allow us to reschedule our matches to remedy the conflict.
ESL is very important to us and we are deeply saddened no solution could be found due to these circumstances which were not caused by us. We have even suggested that we will start from scratch and fight our way through the 2nd EU qualifier for the chance to earn a spot at ESL like everyone else. We are being forced to give up the position we earned in the CIS qualifier, all we want is a chance to earn that spot again in another qualifier. We have not received an answer from ESL on that suggestion. We are sorry to our fans who will not be able to see us continue in the qualifier if no solution can be found. We very much hope ESL will reconsider and find a way to let us play.”
dAT Team topped Group C of StarLadder with three wins and no losses. They are showing a great improvement in their performance ever since the roster change was made and it's unfortunate that they had to forfeit the ESL One qualifier.
