Fragbite Masters is set to begin, all groups are settled

Fragbite Masters Season 3 is all set to begin. All participants and full schedule are now known. The opening match is scheduled for October 1st at 19.00 CEST.

After announcing the prize pool and invited teams for their $42,000 tournament two weeks ago, Fragbite Masters have also announced even more information regarding the schedule, LAN finals, and prize distribution last week.

The groups are now completed. After two onlines qualifiers were held, myXMG, Team Property, Planetkey Dynamics and NO SIR! managed to get the last four spots for this event. The group stages will start on October 1st and will continue onto October 12th. There will be four groups of four teams, 3 invited teams and 1 qualified team in each group. The matches will follow a double elimination format where the first two matches played in each group will be BO1, whereas the remaining matches will be played in BO3 format.

The online playoffs will also be played in double-elimination. The top two teams of each group will be placed in the upper bracket whereas the bottom two teams of each group will be placed in the lower bracket; no teams will be actually be eliminated in the group stage. The first round of the lower bracket will be in BO1 format, however, the rest of the tournament will be played in BO3 format. The playoffs will take place from October 14-29.

The playoffs will carry on until there are only four teams remaining in the tournament. The top four teams will then be given the opportunity to play at the LAN finals in Stockholm, Sweden where they will battle for a grand prize of approximately $22,500. While there will still be an upper bracket and lower bracket at the LAN finals, the team coming from the upper bracket will not receive a map advantage in the BO5 grand finals, only an extra map veto advantage. The LAN finals will be held between November 8-9.

The following is the prize distribution for the top four teams in the tournament:

1. ~ $22,000
2. ~ $10,000
3. ~ $5,000
4. ~ $2,500

Each of the four teams that qualify for the LAN finals will also recieve approximately $2,000 travel support.
