Fnatic has won a first seed in the group B, while 3DMAX managed to get the second one. The Danish duo, Team Dignitas and CPH Wolves have been eliminated from the tournament.
The first match of Group B saw Fnatic fighting 3DMAX on de_cache. The Swedes easily came on top of the duel with a score of 16-4. They moved to winner's bracket final where they waited for the winner of CPH Wolves and Team Dignitas match. It was very close in the match of two Danish teams where Team Dignitas clutched the win in a 16-14 scoreline on de_dust2.
The winner's bracket final saw the top two teams from our rankings battling out for the first seed of this group. In probably the most interesting match of the day Fnatic took a huge lead at CT side 12-3, but the Danes showed how to make a comeback making it even. In the end Dignitas took match point but Fnatic clutched overtime where they came out as the winners.
The loser's finals saw the first upset of this group where 3DMAX defeated a more favored team, CPH Wolves. The match was played once again on de_cache and 3DMAX secured an early lead of 9-6 on T side. 3DMAX eventually won the game 16-13 and a place in decider match of Group B against Team Dignitas.
In this match where everyone expected a pure execution by Team Dignitas, the Finish team showed that they are at this event with a reason by winning a first half with 11-4 as Terrorists at de_dust2. The second half have seen Dignitas bouncing back, however 3DMAX had a three match points to make another upset in this group, but the Danes made it through to overtime. 3DMAX made a lead of 2-1 after the first overtime and they scored the first round of second overtime which brought them a new match point. Dignitas struggled but in the end successfuly denied them in the second round of second overtime, however 3DMAX were just playing perfectly on T side which they showed once again in the last round of overtim making it 19-17 as the final result.
Playoffs are kicking off tomorrow with the first match between Team LDLC and 3DMAX which is scheduled for 13.15 CEST. Fnatic and Titan will play on 16.30 CEST, while the Grand Finals will start on 20.00 CEST.
