Ninjas in Pyjamas win Group A of the Dreamhack Summer Tournament, taking down Berzerk and Epsilon. The French will be joining them in the playoffs after winning in the consolidation match over the Germans.
Both games of Round One were played on de_inferno. The opening match for NiP was against Berzerk, and while the Swedes struggled a fair bit at the start on the CT side, also having problems with a disconnect, they managed an 8-7 lead at half time. They did, however, eventually secure a first win for themselves at the tournament with the final score of 16-12. In the other group's first match Epsilon won convincingly against Publiclir.se with a clear 15-3.
The winner's match kicked off with the Epsilon taking a pistol round over NiP, however the Swedes exploded and destroyed the Frenchmen in the first half with a score of 11-4. On the Terrorist side they managed to secure the win without much hassle with a score of 16-5. This was actualy the only match of Group A which wasn't played on de_inferno, as de_dust2 was chosen instead. In the Loser's match, Berzerker had just walked over Publiclir.se, with a score of 16-4, who didn't have any chance to bring suspense to the match.
In the consolidation match Berzerk picked up the pace scoring 5-2, however Epsilon did reorganize their play and completely turned this match around in their favor winning eight consecutive rounds for a total of 10-5. In the second half, the Frenchmen won the pistol round, but the Germans managed to win five consecutive rounds, which wasn't enough in the end, 16-11. Epsilon is the second team from Group A going to the playoffs.
