Ferguson and Lederer Resign from PPA

Late last week, prominent poker players and owners of Full Tilt Poker Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson quietly resigned from the board of the Poker Players Alliance. No further comment was issued, but it seems to stem from the two pro's prominent positions within Full Tilt and the backlash stemming from the delay of Full Tilt to return U.S. player funds promptly in the wake of the Black Friday indictments.

Both Lederer and Ferguson were also no-shows at the $25k WPT Championships at the Bellagio, an event they usually play. Although some Full Tilt pros were playing and wearing patches, Phil Ivey, and Tom Dwan, who are both considered to have equity in Full Tilt Poker also didn't play the event.

It is interesting timing in that Full Tilt had promised an update of events on 5/15, only to disappoint with no concrete date set for the return of player funds or any coherent message as to why it was taking so long. Many U.S. players with significant bankrolls on that site now fear their World Series of Poker experiences will be dramatically affected by the inability to access their online bankrolls.
