Italy came away with a perfect 3-0 score against Spain in the semi-finals while Germany lost only once in a 3-1 tilt against Russia. An interesting point is that both finalists were from the same group during the group stages. Both Germany and Italy went 2-1 in Group D. When the two teams played each other in the group stages, Italy came away with a close 3-2 win over Germany. Now they must face each other again and it could mean another very close match between the two.
